Murdock-Whitney House - Winchendon, MA
Summary of Claims: It was built by Elisha Murdock, son of Ephraim Murdock and founder in 1834 of E. Murdock and Company on River Street, Waterville. E. Murdock and Company was the second oldest industry in Winchendon and became the oldest and largest wooden-ware manufacturing establishment in the country. Elisha Murdock was also the first president of Winchendon Savings Bank, chartered on March 31, 1854. It remained the home of members of one of the most successful and longest-standing families in Winchendon. The Murdock-Whitney House is now the home of the Winchendon Historical Society and one of the town's most beautiful and historic mansions, with its Colonial Revival redesign and Victorian elements.
Claims are of an old woman that haunts the Murdock-Whitney House. She is very protective of her home and wanders the hallways, and is especially averse to allowing people into her bedroom. Her footsteps are heard throughout the house, including the mysterious third floor, in which the staff refuses to enter by themselves.
Investigation: Robin and I along with two friends arrived at the Murdock-Whitney House in Winchendon, MA a little before 6:00 P.M. We were greeted by Don O’Neil, President of the Winchendon Historical Society who introduced us to the Curator, Mary Bulger who has experienced some of the paranormal activity. Mr. O'Neil then gave us a tour of this beautiful 3 floors, 22 room home which took a little over an hour. Upon completing the tour, we all gathered in the kitchen to get our equipment ready. We asked Mr. O'Neil as well as Mrs. Bulger about some of the activity that has taken place in the Murdock-Whitney House but they concluded that it was best if we experienced the activity ourselves and then we could talk to them after our investigation.
After checking our equipment, we proceeded to the third floor to begin our investigation.
Investigation: We got lots of activity in the textile room. We set up a flash light, EMF Meter, temperature gauge, and a laser grid on the fireplace mantel and proceeded to ask yes and no questions. At first we didn't get any responses to our questions but eventually the flash light lit up after we asked a question. We then asked that the spirit turn the flash light off, which they did. We spent a good amount of time in this room as we were getting a lot of responses.
In the toy room in the attic, we set up the laser grid and at one point there where faded dots in the grid as if something pasted through it. We also got a lot of orbs on the wooden beams.
In the Ladies Parlor, we got tons of orbs on the chairs, doors, pictures, walls, and even the rug.
At one point, Robin and the two other members of our group decided to take a cigarette break. I decided to go into the music room on the first floor and see if I could get any activity. I set up my flash light on the piano and sat in a chair in complete darkness and proceeded to ask questions requiring a yes or no answer. I could not believe the amount of times my flash light lit up for a yes answer to my question and then shut off when I asked.
Conclusion: All in all, there is paranormal activity here and we will be definitely going back.

The Victorian Mansion (S.K. Pierce Mansion) - Gardner, MA
Summary of Claims: Build by chair manufacturing mogul Sylvester K. Pierce in 1875. Twenty-three servants ran the day to day affairs of the 26-room home complete with running water via a cistern in the attic. S.K. Pierce's first wife, Susan died in 1876 shortly after the home was built. Mr. Pierce remarried in 1888 at the age of 63 to Ellen and had 3 sons. Ellen Pierce died in 1902 of cancer.
In the early 20th century, it was a brothel for the local gentry. Later it became a boarding house then returned to a private home.
Tapping, whispering, objects moving, orbs, slamming doors, footsteps, doorbell ringing as well as appliances turning on and off are seen and heard throughout the mansion. Noises coming from the former nanny's room, a rocking chair rocking back and forth on its own and a child's ball known to move about the room have been reported. A young boy running back and forth from window to window has been seen by the neighbors. A dark shadow person peeking over the lamp on the 2nd floor landing has been reported by the current owners who no longer live at the mansion.
Investigation: This is the second time investigating the Victorian Mansion in Gardner, MA. Robin and I decided to keep the group small so as to keep the noise level down and to prevent contamination. We decided not to investigate this location solely based on hunches or feelings but to look for indisputable evidence of one of life's greatest questions... "Is there life after death?"
My group and I arrived at the Victorian Mansion on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. The current owner of the mansion, Edwin Gonzalez was there to greet us. Upon entering the mansion, you couldn't help but feel that the resident spirits were waiting to welcome you. After introductions were made and setting up our equipment, Mr. Gonzalez began the tour of the mansion starting in the former library on the first floor. As we toured the rooms on the first floor, Edwin told us that he and his wife, Lillian moved into the mansion in April 2009 and began experiencing activity right away. As he gave us a brief history of the mansion, he also told us of some of the activity he and his wife witnessed in the various rooms. In the former dining room on the first floor which they turned into a living room, Edwin described to us how he and his wife were watching TV when he heard what sounded like plastic cups being thrown in the pantry.
Olde Centre (The Old Royalston Cemetery) - Royalston, Massachusetts
Summary of Claims: This is a very old and very small cemetery. It is surrounded by a short stoned wall. There is only one way in and one way out. Feelings arrive as soon as you enter such as cold spots, light touching sensations, and that "I’m not alone" feeling. There's a stone table like gravestone not too far in. Next to it, his one wife and his three concubines. Reports of seeing a black like figure moving about the cemetery really fast and then a fog like woman with a long white dress with blonde hair swaying around the back brick wall in the cemetery towards the old shack. Most believe that the stone table is the black shadow's gravestone since he’s usually seen right there. Note: All four (4) women's deaths have the same date, and the table gravestone's date is only a few short days later. Most of the inscription on the table can’t be read anymore.
Investigation: Robin and I arrived at the cemetery on February 4, 2012 at approximately 7:00 P.M. Upon entering the cemetery, I got so cold I started to shiver. On this night, the moon was 84% visible so we were able to see fairly well. Making our way to the other side of the cemetery, we spotted the table gravestone. As I approached it, I begun to get an uneasy feeling. I had this strong impression that we weren't alone. Robin felt the same way. It was eerie quiet. We began speaking to whatever was present but were unable to get any responses. After a few minutes, Robin asked me if I heard something. She stated that she heard what sounded like footsteps; as if someone took a step then another and stopped. After sitting and listening for a few minutes, Robin noticed movement along the side wall that was consistent with the size of a man. I did see something flickering along the woods near the edge of the stonewall. It appeared to run from tree to tree as if watching us. Robin and I got the feeling that we were not welcomed there. We made our way to the entrance not quite running but walking very fast. We couldn't get out of the cemetery fast enough! Before getting into the car, Robin said she hoped that the spirits didn't follow us.
Conclusion: Indications of possible activity. Did have the feelings of cold spots as well as the "I'm not alone" feeling and the dark shadow moving along the edge of the woods along the wall. We didn't get a chance to go to the back of the cemetery were there have been reports of a blonde woman in a long white dress seen around the stone wall. Both Robin and I felted very uneasy being in this cemetery. This cemetery is definitely on our "return to" list.
Investigation: We returned to this cemetery on February 17, 2012 at about 8:30 A.M. We spent approximately one hour there this time. Upon arriving, we headed right to the table gravestone (this being the Reverend Joseph Lee resting place). Robin stood in front of the gravestone as I stood a few feet away. All of a sudden I heard Robin take a deep breath. Asking her what was wrong, she stated she felt as if her breath was being sucked out of her. We decided to check out the other gravestones while making our way towards the back of the cemetery. We notice several small gravestones of children; most of them having died within months and some even days after their birth. Although we had the feeling of "not being alone", we did not observe any further activity.
Conclusion: Based on our personal experiences, our findings indicate that there could be possible activity. Robin and I both had the "not alone" feeling as well as the "cold spots" in certain areas and felt as if we were being watched. Stay tuned for another visit!

Gilson Road Cemetery - Nashua, New Hampshire
Gilson Road
Cemetery
Summary of Claims: Gilson Road Cemetery is well know locally for its high energy and activity. Highly investigated by other paranormal researchers, Gilson has been know to produce some extraordinary photos. It is said to be one of America's most haunted cemeteries.
Said to be one of America's most haunted cemeteries, this once isolated and rural location features apparitions, cold spots, EMF anomalies, EVP and visual anomalies, flickering lights, and paranormal energy fields at the back of the cemetery that will show up in photos and videos. It is said to be an ideal location for paranormal research.
Gilson Road Cemetery is one of the most unsettling and fascinating cemeteries in southern New Hampshire. It more than earns its creepy reputation with it's very old graves, some of which aren't marked. Day or night, Gilson Road Cemetery is still very haunted.
Gilson Road Cemetery at one time started out as a family cemetery in colonial times. According to legend, the stone wall enclosed a farmhouse. The house burned down and some of the victims of this fire were buried in a small plot near the charred remains of the house. Another house was built on the site, but it too burned down, and like the previous fire, its victims were buried close to the home.
Early records suggest that Gilson Road was the site of at least two large Native American battles. Nations from the north and from the south, met near Gilson Road and engaged in a bloody warfare. As this was before records existed, the stories are largely from oral tradition and the details aren't very clear.
Investigation: On August 10, 2019 a little before sunset, Robin, Ronnie and I arrived at the Gilson Road Cemetery. We parked the car off the road across from the cemetery. After gathering our equipment, we made our way to the very old and rusted iron gate. There was no sign anywhere telling you the name of this cemetery. Upon entering the cemetery, we noticed that the ground is not very level, making it quite difficult to navigate when its dark. The first thing we noticed upon entering, is that this cemetery is very small with only about 30 gravestones. The oldest gravestone dates back to 1756 and no new gravestone has been placed in this cemetery since 1907.
There are several gravestones bearing the Gilson name including a few marked "Baby Gilson". One of those gravestones is that of Walter Gilson who was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Gilson. Walter died August 28th, 1811 at age 5 years 8 months 25 days. This gravestone is situated by itself in the middle of the cemetery, away from the family's gravestones. This early 19th-century headstone is odd in that it has a hole in the center of it. This headstone is very old slate and the hole looks like it was probably drilled, but why. We thought maybe it was a bullet hole. This stone is old and dry with no cracks coming from the hole opening that suggests that anything impacted it. The back of this stone isn't fragmented in chunks like it would be from a bullet. There are no other gravestones in this cemetery that have been shot at. The lettering on this gravestone doesn't go around the hole, so the damage was done after the stone was carved.
Robin brought her dowsing rods and use them to guide us to areas of interest. There was an area in the back of the cemetery near the stone wall that the dowsing rods kept pointing us to. Every time we walked over in that area, we took pictures, but we didn't get anything that was paranormal. We continued to walk round the cemetery, stopping to look at each gravestone and snapping pictures as we moved from one area to another. As we stopped at Walter Gilson's headstone, Robin placed a small robotic toy that would light up if someone got near it in front of the headstone and did an EVP session, but our attempt to capture an EVP proved fruitless.
As we walked around the cemetery taking pictures, we kept going to the back of the cemetery, where a stone wall separates the graveyard from the woods behind it. Robin and Ronnie thought it would be a good idea to have me walk past the stone wall and into the woods. There looked like there was another stone wall within site of the stone wall surrounding the cemetery. Having not yet gotten completely dark, I climbed over the stone wall and started walking towards the second stone wall. I made it about half way to the second stone wall when Robin stated that she snapped a picture of me walking towards the wall and captured a large orb to the right of me. She continued taking pictures to see if she could captured anything else, but got nothing more than that one picture with the orb.
Still curious as to the second stone wall, Ronnie decided he would go check it out. As he walked towards the wall, videoing as he went, Robin and I continued to walk around the cemetery and take pictures and videos. Ronnie called out to us that he went beyond the second wall and that he couldn't believe how cold it was. He stated that he could see his breath and his hands were ice cold. We all thought this a bit weird as it was 72 degrees in the cemetery. Ronnie kept telling us how cold he was and eventually made his way back to Robin and I. He had me feel his hands and I couldn't believe how cold they were. It was like his hands were made of ice. Wanting to check out the same area that Ronnie was at, we all trekked through the woods to the same spot he was previously. We couldn't believe the difference in the temperature from the cemetery to where we were. You could clearing see your breath just as you would if you were outside in freezing weather. If was really weird.
We decided to walk the cemetery one more time and do a couple of EVP's at some of the headstones before we left. We started at Walter Gilson's headstone asking questions and trying to get the robotic toy to light up, and then moved around to other headstones. The toy never lit up once the whole time there, nor did we get any EVP's.
Conclusion: Having read that this cemetery was supposedly one of America's most haunted cemeteries and highly investigated by other paranormal researchers, as well as this cemetery being known to produce some extraordinary photos (the type most ghost hunters hope to get once in a lifetime), we were very disappointed that we didn't get any paranormal activity. The only thing we got from this investigation were a few pictures with orbs and the strange temperature difference in the woods. Would we go back to investigate this cemetery again, that is the million dollar question.
